Partners in Education leverages a unique mix of corporate, individual, government and foundation support to provide effective services aligned with one main goal: to prepare students for what’s next.
We recognize that “what’s next” varies from student to student and that each path to personal success can look very different. We also know that while certain courses in school might energize and motivate a student, other important studies seem inaccessible. Too many students struggle throughout their entire education, never making that connection between what they’re learning in the classroom and the future waiting beyond it. What we and classroom teachers all across Santa Barbara County have found, is that it only takes one volunteer to encourage, to inspire and to reveal something new, opening the door of possibility.
Our mission is to connect businesses and individuals with schools and youth-serving nonprofit organizations that serve them, in order to improve public education in ways that support a more vibrant economy, the health of our community and the well-being of local children and their families.

Partners in Education was first formed in 1977 by leaders in the business and education communities. Partners grew and evolved into a nonprofit 501(c)3 organization in 2000.
